ISTE Board Elections - Result

“The results of the 2011 elections for positions on the Board of the International Society for Technology in Education (www.iste.org) have been announced.    Of particular interest to Australian educators is the election of Mr Tony Brandenburg to the Board.

Tony has been actively engaged in the field of ICT in education through state and national activities as a previous President of ICT in Education Victoria (ICTEV) and current President of the Australian Council for Computers in Education (ACCE).

For many years, he has consistently advocated that the success of educational technology and teacher professional development is dependent on substantial funding, well developed resources and organizations that actively engage teachers and administrators. Tony’s election to the ISTE Board provides a prominent position to advance that philosophy further.

His election creates a rare, and possibly unique, situation by being a non-US person elected to a position other than the International Representative on the ISTE Board. This further demonstrates the high regard for Tony’s experience and expertise that has been expressed by the members of ISTE through their votes.

His colleagues on the Australian Council for Computers in Education congratulate Tony on this achievement and know that his strategic vision will be an asset to ISTE.”
